Job summary

Houston Physicians Hospital in Houston, TX is seeking a Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our team. The RN will assist physicians with interventional cardiac procedures, monitor patients, administer meds and contrast, and ensure safe pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Texas RN license
• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification required or obtainable
• Experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management
• Understanding of aseptic technique and its implementation
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Ability to demonstrate creativity, accountability, and receptiveness to change

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures.
• Monitor patient vitals, sedation levels, and overall condition during procedures.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and contrast agents as needed.
• Educate patients and families on pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure care.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, radiology techs, and cardiovascular technologists to ensure seamless patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, procedural details, and any complications.
• Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations, including cardiac events.
• Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
