Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare West is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide safe, effective care in the Cardiovascular/IMCU Unit. The role reports to the Director/Manager and focuses on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

You will utilize current nursing knowledge, participate in unit meetings, and support orientation of new staff while maintaining patient safety and infection control standards. A strong team orientation and commitment to excellence are essential.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
• ACLS required within 6 months of date of hire/transfer.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 60 days of date of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in performance of job-related technical skills.
• Demonstrates current knowledge of medications, actions, contraindications, and adverse reactions.
• Attends and actively participates in unit meetings.
• Serves as a participant on Nursing service committees and/or unit projects.
• Maintains and improves personal nursing knowledge/competence through goals and self-development.
• Assists in orientation of new employees.
• Ensures personal safety and patient safety.
• Includes infection control in nursing care.
• Keeps informed of changes through Meditech and other tools.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Patient safety goals.
• Completes other duties assigned.
• Adheres to the Customer Service Principles of West Houston Medical Center.
