Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to support invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab. You will assist physicians, operate imaging equipment, and monitor patient status throughout cases, with emphasis on sterile technique and supplies management.

The role requires an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science or healthcare, ACLS certification, and RCIS (or ARRT TX(R)) licensure within six months. 40-hour weeks with call are included.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire or ARRT and TX RT(R) in lieu.
• Licenses and/or Certifications as required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during cath lab procedures and interprets dysrhythmia/EKGs.
• Operates imaging equipment under physician direction and assists as scrub tech.
• Assists circulator by monitoring patient status and handling supplies.
• Transports patients to and from the department.
• Cleans and stocks the cath lab; manages medications and dosages.
• Demonstrates knowledge of procedures and theoretical aspects.
• Orders supplies and maintains inventory control.
• Post procedure care: remove sheaths, maintain hemostasis, monitor status.
• Preps lab and patient for procedures; maintains sterile technique.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems.
