Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cath Lab on night shift. The role supports nurses, assists with patient care tasks, and maintains a safe, clean unit environment.

Ideal candidates include graduates of PCT programs or CNAs with EKG and phlebotomy training and current BLS/CPR certification. Hospital experience is preferred, with opportunities to grow within a leading health system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with hospital experience preferred.
• CNA background with course in EKG & Phlebotomy and PCT certification eligible or hold PCT certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse in patient care tasks.
• Support unit safety, supplies, equipment and environment.
• Assist in data collection for Quality Improvement programs.
• Assist in reviewing patient/family feedback and action plans.
• Participate in unit meetings, training, and mandatory education.
• Support patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Carry out tasks such as phlebotomy, glucose testing, ECGs as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and health care team.
