Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the Main PACU. This full-time, evening-shift position supports the professional nurse by delivering safe, compassionate patient care and helping maintain a clean, well-organized unit.

The role requires a high school diploma, PCT program completion or CNA with EKG and Phlebotomy training, and BLS/CPR certification. On-the-job training is provided to complete the PCT program within three months.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• PCT program graduate with 6 months hospital experience.
• CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy course; PCT cert eligible.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required.
• Must complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in data collection for unit Quality and Performance Improvement.
• Supports patient preparation and admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Performs phlebotomy, fingersticks for glucose, and ECGs as assigned.
• Maintains unit cleanliness and safety of equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrates effective communication with patients, families, and staff.
