Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to support invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab. Under supervision, you will assist with imaging, monitoring, scrub and circulator duties, and patient transport.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field, AHA-ACLS, RCIS (within six months), and ARRT/TX RT(R) as applicable. Prior cath lab experience is strongly preferred, and the role involves equipment

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during procedures, interpreting dysrhythmia and EKGs, and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists with case circulator duties, monitors patient status, and supplies handling.
• Transports patient to and from the department and maintains room sterile technique.
• Stocks cath lab and maintains inventories of supplies.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and dosages used during procedures.
• Post-procedure safety: manages hemostasis and patient monitoring.
• Prepares lab and patient for procedures, including shaving and pulse marking.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems as needed.
