Job summary

Advocate Health in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Cardiovascular Cath Lab Nurse to provide professional, highly technical nursing care during cardiovascular procedures and to assist physicians.

The role requires 2 years cath lab experience, required IL RTR/RTN/RCVT or Paramedic license, ACLS/IABP, and ability to work in a high-stress environment with on-call duties. Sign-on bonus offered.

Qualifications

• 2 years cardiac cath lab experience or 5+ years RTR/RTN experience.
• Minimum 12 CEU hours per year.
• IL license as RTR/RTN/RCVT or Paramedic; ACLS; IABP.
• RCIS certification within two years of employment.
• Ability to work in high-stress environment with heavy lifting.
• Ability to respond to off-hour call-ins within 30 minutes.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, highly technical nursing care during cardiovascular procedures.
• Assist physicians in the operation of cardiovascular equipment.
• Maintain complete documentation of cardiovascular procedures.
• Participate in in-services and continuing education to stay current.
• Maintain quality control in all lab areas and ensure safety.
• Assist in staff orientation and serve as a resource for clinical activities.
• Help develop new operating procedures.
