Chartwells Higher Ed is hiring for a CAPTAIN, CATERING SR (FULL TIME) at the University of Toledo. The role supervises the Catering Department, oversees food service at functions, and may drive a truck to deliver food and beverages. Training is provided.

Shifts vary with event schedules, 8am–11:30pm; full-time employment with benefits such as Instapay. Location is University of Toledo, OH. Prior catering/event experience and required permits are noted on the posting.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in catering, events and food service roles, including table service, bartending, BOH sanitization and supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Catering Department employees and assists in performance appraisals.
• Determines workload requirements from catering orders.
• Plans setup arrangements with function group leaders and resolves last-minute changes.
• Assembles and delivers food and supplies to scheduled functions.
• Returns equipment and supplies to the catering facility.
• Distributes and collects guest feedback cards at events.
• Ensures proper presentation, portions and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation and orderliness of equipment and work area.
• Interacts with customers and resolves complaints professionally.
• Follows sanitation and safety principles in handling food and equipment.
