Job summary

The Toledo Zoo is seeking a full-time Sous Chef to join our catering team in Toledo, OH. This role supports the Executive Chef in daily operations, supervises kitchen staff, develops menus, and ensures high standards of food quality in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a Culinary Arts or Hospitality background with at least two years of relevant experience, supervisory skills, and a valid driver’s license. It is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime under FLSA.

Qualifications

• Formal education in Culinary Arts or Hospitality preferred.
• Minimum two years' experience in a similar role.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Executive Chef in daily catering operations.
• Provide supervision, training and guidance to kitchen staff.
• Develop menus, monitor food production and quality.
• Run the kitchen when the Chef is not present.
