Hilton Ocala is one of four Meyer Jabara properties in Florida; our beautiful 196- room property has 6 spacious event rooms to host a plethora of memorable occasions, as well as our tented outdoor event space.

We are currently looking for an ambitious Catering Sales Manager to join our team. The incumbent will be responsible for selling, planning, and executing all of the social events to include weddings of the banquet space in the Hotel. As well as accommodating the sleeping room blocks associated with weddings and other events . This position will report directly to the Director of Catering Sales and collaborate with the Executive Chef, Food & Beverage Director . Reservations and Front Desk in communicating the clients’ event requests.

What You'll Do:

  • Establish client base of organizations, associations and commercial businesses through direct outside sales efforts to secure business for the hotel; conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains potential clients in accordance with company and property policies.
  • Negotiates with client regarding food & beverage pricing, function space, room rates and hotel services; confirms in writing in a timely manner to the client and all affected hotel departments all group requirements via group sales contract or banquet event order.
  • Consult and create compelling wedding packages to secure business.
  • Work directly with partner wedding vendors to cross-market and solicit Hotel wedding revenues.
  • Serves as member of Sales & Catering/Management Team, and works with other management to establish and implement hotel service standards to achieve maximum profitability and efficiency.
  • Supervises and follows up with catering sales activities related to specific markets; assists client with menu selection and banquet arrangements through a thorough knowledge of hotel facilities, kitchen capabilities and menu options.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Two year or higher degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of hotel, restaurant or catering sales experience required
  • Negotiation experience preferred
  • Knowledge of up-selling and add-on services and amenities
  • Possesses a strong affinity for weddings and is knowledgeable of wedding trends
