Job summary

Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa in Clearwater Beach, FL is seeking an Event Sales Manager to solicit, book, plan and coordinate meetings and functions while maximizing banquet space to meet or exceed sales goals.

The ideal candidate has at least two years in hotel or catering management, strong Delphi, Excel/Word skills, and prior Hilton or OnQ experience is preferred. The role includes outside sales calls, networking, and coordinating with hotel departments to ensure flawless events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or event management or related field.
• Minimum two full years of employment in a related hotel or catering manager position.
• Prior Hilton experience preferred.
• Prior OnQ experience preferred.
• Expert knowledge of Delphi required.
• High proficiency with Excel and Word.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa is looking for an Event Sales Manager to join our team

Role:

Solicit, book, plan and coordinate meetings/functions while maximizing the banquet space to meet/exceed sales goals.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for Local Social Catering and Local Corporate Catering Markets at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa located in Clearwater Beach, FL.

• Sell, book and finalize catering groups from start to finish.
• Service Events/Conferences as assigned by the DOCE.

Functions:

• Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc...) while maximizing banquet space to meet/exceed revenue goals. Soliciting includes outside sales calls and appointments including networking events.
• Execute a territorial marketing strategy to capture the maximum amount of revenue and meet/exceed sales goals.
• Plan, upsell and detail the meeting/function/menus with the client including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations, etc... Complete the contracts, prepare the appropriate paperwork, coordinate with the appropriate areas in the hotel, resolve any issues, complaints and problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Prepare status and period end reports to keep management abreast of activities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate/hotel procedures and products and the competition's product, strengths and weaknesses to continually improve sales strategies and the achievement of goals.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education:

Prefer bachelor's degree in hospitality management / Event Management or related field.

Experience:

Minimum two full years of employment in a related hotel or catering manager position.

Prior Hilton experience preferred.

Prior OnQ experience preferred.

Expert Knowledge of Delphi required.

High Proficiency with Excel, Word.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Skills and Abilities:

• Requires thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the catering, food & beverage and hospitality professions.
• Requires ability to investigate, critically think and analyze current activities and/or information involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations.
• Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and/or hotel guests.
• Ability to drive to outside sales calls.

Forty to fifty hours over a five-day period; days and times may vary based on need. Weekends and nights possible based on events. Flexible scheduling
