Job summary

Dolce by Wyndham Parsippany is seeking a Catering Manager to drive catering sales and manage accounts, ensuring guest satisfaction and revenue goals.

You will solicit new clients, conduct site inspections, and coordinate with culinary and banquet teams to deliver seamless events. This role requires hospitality experience and strong negotiation skills, with the ability to forecast and manage budgets.

Qualifications

• Prior hospitality experience with catering sales is essential.
• Minimum 1+ year in catering sales required.
• Experience at a similar size and quality hotel preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and hotel sales system.
• Strong sales and revenue management skills.
• Knowledge of hotel features, benefits, and competitive landscape.
• Understanding of hotel operations, including marketing plans and budget forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and solicit new and existing catering accounts to achieve revenue goals.
• Understand monthly forecasting, annual budgets, pace management and productivity metrics.
• Apply yield management techniques to maximize revenue and profitability.
• Evaluate catering opportunities for client alignment and hotel profitability.
• Conduct market research on competitors’ products, services and pricing.
• Sell all hotel services, including room rental and A/V, to maximize account value.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships for repeat business.
• Participate in industry events to generate leads and exposure.
• Collaborate with culinary and banquet teams to design menus and event setups.
• Oversee execution of catering events with staff and vendors.
• Maintain records in sales systems and ensure proper documentation for events.
