The Role at a glance:

We are looking for a Catering Sales Coordinator to join our Constellation team at The New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, NY. This is a great opportunity if you have a catering & events background and you have had experience planning and executing those events. You will be directly supporting the needs/goals of the Director of Catering as well as the Catering Sales Manager and the Event Specialist. If you are looking to advance your career in managing catering events, this is a great role for you.

***This position works days, nights and weekends. A flexible schedule is needed to accommodate event needs***

Compensation is $25 an hour.

What you'll be doing:

• Working as a member of a cohesive operations team supporting the Director of Catering and sales team, as well as the General Manager to enable event execution. This individual functions as a support to the Event Manager and Captains, as well as sometimes acts as a junior sales specialist when business levels are high. The Catering Sales Coordinator maintains a positive, “win-win” attitude, always working to improve the execution and timeliness of their team.
• Ensuring all event information in CaterXpert from the sales team is up to date and fully detailed prior to event/deadlines.
• Assisting in the setup and execution of events, as well as closing out assigned events.
• Ensuring all event and pre-event paperwork is assembled for proper communication in a timely manner.
• Spearheading business dining for the internal client- scheduling deliveries, organizing layouts, collaborating with culinary.
• Collaborating with facilities teams to ensure proper inventory and cleanliness for event execution and closeout.
• Maintaining calendar of events through Outlook and attend all necessary event meetings and conference calls.
• Communicate with sales, culinary and booking staff, as needed, to ensure understanding of menus and client needs.
• Assisting with sales during the initial inquiry process.
• As needed, assisting in food and beverage outlets in a supervisory role.

What we're looking for:

• 2 years of catering/food-beverage and/or administrative/event experience
• Basic PC knowledge and comprehension (Word & Excel)
