WHO WE NEED:

Arootah is seeking experienced Trading Assistants to consult with our prestigious clients. As a consultant, you will work with Hedge Fund and Family Office clients providing expert advice. Ideal candidates will have previous experience as a Trading Assistant, supporting trading and systems for investment professionals, and serving as the primary contact for counterparty, custodial, and fund accountant inquiries for a leading Hedge Fund or Family Office.

What You'll Do

• Provide advice and guidance to clients on their Trading needs, supporting some of the top Hedge Funds and Family Offices worldwide.
• Develop effective monthly action plans, identify roadblocks, and break goals into actionable steps.
• Provide resources to implement action plans, including policies, procedures, and controls.
• Review and analyze client tools and resources to ensure industry best practices.
• Evaluate client progress using KPIs and scoring matrices.
• Maintain detailed records of consulting results, challenges, and breakthroughs.

Who You Are

• You have experience managing the full trade lifecycle, including booking, settlement, and resolving trade issues.
• You assist traders with pre-trade checks, including security positions and cash balances.
• You monitor existing positions, coordinate with Traders and Portfolio Managers, and perform post-trade functions.
• You work with Prime Brokers, Administrators, and Custodians to ensure trade settlements and resolve discrepancies.
• You monitor FX matching and netting, ensuring timely settlement and compliance with regulations.
• You assist onboarding new counterparties, markets, or trading systems.
• You track currency hedges and monitor corporate actions to inform portfolio managers.
• You ensure compliance with Dodd-Frank, EMIR, and local regulations.
• You follow all company rules and regulations, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
• You are willing to assist with other departmental projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Computer Science, or related field with strong academics.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience at a Hedge Fund or Family Office, particularly in trade reconciliation and resolution.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail, efficiency, and multitasking ability under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Quantitative aptitude with a solid understanding of financial concepts.
• Experience with various asset classes in a high-volume environment.
• Knowledge of settlement practices and procedures, including back-office operations.
• Proactive attitude with a drive to deliver high-value projects.
