Job summary

Spire Hospitality, LLC in Goleta, CA is seeking a Catering and Events Manager to lead hotel sales and events, managing accounts and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction while pursuing revenue targets, room nights, and average daily rate.

You will coordinate banquet and catering details, review event notes, inspect spaces, coordinate with operations, assist planners, and compile daily events reports to ensure flawless gatherings.

Qualifications

• Two years hospitality sales or convention service experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Previous experience with hotel PMS systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review Daily Event Sheet and Banquet Event Orders.
• Check status of meeting room set-ups.
• Visually inspect meeting rooms and public areas and correct discrepancies.
• Coordinate refreshes and changes to meeting rooms with the operations department.
• Inspect registration area and office for cleanliness and water service.
• Check-in with Meeting Planners at least 4 times a day.
• Assist clients with last minute or pending requests.
• Complete daily events report.

This role is dedicated to delivering exceptional Guest Services as part of our Sales & Catering TEAM, ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's sales function. As a Catering and Events Manager, your primary responsibility is to manage accounts, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction while actively soliciting both past and new business. The goal is to achieve or exceed all revenue targets, including room nights, average rates, and room rentals.

Essential Job Functions:

• Review Daily Event Sheet and Banquet Event Orders.
• Check status of meeting room set-ups.
• Visually inspect all meeting rooms and public areas making note of any changes that are inconsistent with the BEO's and take immediate corrective action.
• Coordinate refreshes and changes to all meeting rooms with the proper operation department.
• Inspect registration area and office for cleanliness, water service, etc
• Check-in with Meeting Planners a minimum of 4 times a day.
• Assist clients with any last minute or pending requests.
• Complete daily events report. Physical Demands:
• Ability to sit for long periods of time
• Ability to exercise judgement in evaluating situations and making sound decisions.

Qualifications

Education

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge of skills and abilities.

Experience

• Two years Hospitality Sales and/or Convention Service experience preferred
• Confident utilizing MS outlook, Word, and Excel
• Previous experience with hotel PMS systems a plus.

Pay range: 72K-78K depending on experience
