Job summary

The Herb Box in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a catering prep cook to prepare and organize food for catering events. You will collaborate with the culinary team to ensure ingredients are prepped and ready for service.

This role requires flexibility for nights and weekends, up to 40+ hours per week, with travel as needed. A high school diploma and proven prep cook experience are preferred; culinary certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3 years cooking experience with 1 year catering preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required
• Proven experience as a Prep Cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Clean and maintain station with proper sanitation
• Restock items as needed throughout the shift
• Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
• Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch and dinner as needed
• Assist with inventory management and stocking
• Collaborate with culinary team to create new menu items
