Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking a Catering Coordinator and Event Supervisor to receive, track, and coordinate communications and logistics for a high-volume catering operation that averages $1.8 million in annual sales. You will ensure accurate reporting when events conclude and collaborate with catering staff, customers, and campus partners with professional, consistent communication.

This full-time, benefits-eligible, hourly role offers a hiring range of $21.91 to $26.09 per hour, with weekend

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in food services or catering required.
• Associate degree in food service preferred; ServSafe certification preferred.
• Pass ServSafe Managers Food Safety course.
• Flexible schedule and duties essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional and consistent communication with customers, coworkers and all stakeholders.
• Receive and track catering orders efficiently and consistently.
• Execute successful events with Catering colleagues and on-call team to realize the vision for each event.
• Assess equipment, product, and staffing needs; create signage; manage time and resources.
• Uphold safety standards including ServSafe guidelines.
• Transport products and equipment across campus year-round.
• Uphold VT liquor laws and PCI compliance when taking payments.
• Master CaterTrax and related systems for communication with customers.
• Train and supervise on-call staff; contribute to continuous improvement.
