Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education, a member of Compass Group USA, is seeking a Catering Manager in New York to lead the Catering Department, train associates, oversee event setups, and manage temporary staff while ensuring top-notch service at client events.

You will collaborate with the Chef on menus, monitor labor and food costs, and build strong client relationships. A catering background and ServSafe certification are required; MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service experience including 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related food service operations.
• Catering experience is required.
• Knowledge of food quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet.
• ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all catering events.
• Oversee events operations including logistics and sanitation.
• Collaborate with the Chef to create menus.
• Train catering associates in service techniques and presentation.
• Track labor and food costs per event.
• Maintain strong client relationships across management, client, and staff.
• Assist in foodservice activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
