Job summary

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Co is seeking a Catering Lead for the Special Events team in Durango, CO. The role focuses on creating and distributing hot chocolate for the Polar Express Train Ride and overseeing the “Hot Chocolate Factory” to ensure proper food handling and quality standards.

The Catering Lead will manage staff, ensure customer satisfaction, and comply with health guidelines while working mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended seasonal hours.

Qualifications

• Prior food service experience preferred.
• Prior management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pour, and maintain the temperature of hot chocolate.
• Restock supplies from the warehouse and transport to the Hot Chocolate Factory.
• Maintain a clean workstation and adhere to health guidelines.
• Lead catering staff to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with local health regulations.
• Assign daily duties, monitor staff performance, and communicate staffing concerns to the Special Events Coordinator.
