Job summary

The University Catering team at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a motivated Catering Server to join our team and deliver memorable events through excellent service and teamwork.

As a full-time staff member, you will supervise event operations, coordinate food and supplies, hire and train support staff, and participate in menu planning to ensure outstanding guest experiences across campus events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus three years catering, hospitality, or restaurant experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate staff members.
• Food handlers permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise catering event operations, including event setup, service, and cleanup for university dining events
• Provide exceptional customer service to guests while ensuring a positive and welcoming dining experience
• Coordinate the transportation, preparation, and management of food items and supplies for catered events and special meals
• Hire, schedule, train, and lead support staff, including student employees, to ensure efficient event operations
• Assist with menu planning, event coordination, and preparation to support successful catering services
