Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Catering Server in Lincoln, NE to supervise catering operations and ensure exceptional guest service at university events.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus three years catering, hospitality, or restaurant experience; equivalent experience considered.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff.
  • Food handlers permit or ability to obtain.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise catering event operations, including event setup, service, and cleanup for university dining events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests while ensuring a positive and welcoming dining experience
  • Coordinate the transportation, preparation, and management of food items and supplies for catered events and special meals
  • Hire, schedule, train, and lead support staff, including student employees, to ensure efficient event operations
  • Assist with menu planning, event coordination, and preparation to support successful catering services

Description of Work

The University Catering team is dedicated to delivering exceptional culinary experiences and outstanding guest service at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. We are seeking a motivated Catering Server to join our team and help create memorable events through excellent service and teamwork.

  • Supervise catering event operations, including event setup, service, and cleanup for university dining events
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests while ensuring a positive and welcoming dining experience
  • Coordinate the transportation, preparation, and management of food items and supplies for catered events and special meals
  • Hire, schedule, train, and lead support staff, including student employees, to ensure efficient event operations
  • Assist with menu planning, event coordination, and preparation to support successful catering services

Minimum Required Qualifications
