Job summary

Gourmet Dining & Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Catering Manager to lead the Catering Department at events, train staff, and ensure exemplary service across all duties including setup, operation, and breakdown.

The role requires 2 years in food service with 1 year in management, catering experience, and strong skills in cost controls, budgeting, and MS Office. Compass Group USA benefits accompany employment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service experience, including 1 year in management.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Catering experience is required.
• Knowledge of food trends, quality, production, sanitation, and food cost controls.
• Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• ServSafe Certification present.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all catering events.
• Involved in catering events operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and facility activities.
• Works with the Chef in creating menus.
• Trains catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
• Tracks and monitors labor and food cost for each event.
• Communicates with management, client, customer and associates; maintains client relationships.
• Assists in foodservice-related activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
