Job summary

Butler’s Pantry is seeking an Event Manager to oversee client catering events and social/corporate events from contract to execution. You will support administration, foster relationships, and ensure high-value service and reputation across sales and event experiences.

The role emphasizes organization, meticulous planning, and collaboration with culinary, operations, accounting, purchasing, marketing, and design teams to deliver outstanding events.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Degree or Certificate program from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years relevant experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee catered events, from contract through execution, including follow-up.
  • Interact with clients and vendors to ensure strong on-site execution.
  • Support event sales and planning with input from culinary, operations, accounting, purchasing, and design.
  • Attend site visits to craft event design that surpasses client expectations.
  • Maintain professional relationships across departments to secure successful events.

The Event Manager is responsible for the maintenance and execution of client catering events and oversight of social and corporate events. The Event Manager will also take an active role in administration of event related correspondence and on-site support of events. This includes fostering key relationships and contacts to ensure the achievement of increased company value and reputation. The scope of this position includes supporting the integrity of Butler’s Pantry’s services, in both sales and event experiences.

Your COMMITMENT to us:

EMBRACE YOUR TYPE-A (The necessary)

  • Coordinate with culinary, operations, accounting and purchasing departments throughout the life of the event
  • Work with the Sales Manager or Director to ensure accurate and timely creation and administration of BEOs in an orderly manner
  • Develop floor plan designs, provide logistical support and actively support the preliminary planning process
  • Become fluent in catering software (Caterease), diagramming software (Prism), staffing software (Nowsta) and any other technology as required
  • Interact regularly with supervisors to ensure individual growth priorities are aligned with company business strategy
  • Communicate via phone calls, emails and in person with prospective and existing clientele in a warm and effective, yet professional manner

SHOW YOUR STUFF (The fun)

  • Oversee catered events, from contract through execution; keeping in mind the importance of follow up
  • Show the client you’ve got their back, and then take over primary communications from the Sales Manager
  • Provide input and expertise in the event sales and planning process-as required, including necessary feedback from culinary, operations, accounting, purchasing, marketing & design departments
  • Plan and attend site visits to create the perfect event design to knock your clients’ socks off
  • Get to know your clients, and develop relationships that will enable you to execute events beyond their wildest imagination
  • Identify critical issues and potential problems before they occur, troubleshoot the unexpected
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks

  • Set an example for and support service staff members, clients and guests at event
  • Be confident fielding questions on-site from vendors, planners, clients or fellow team members

  • Act as an ambassador of the Company by sharing the Company’s values, vision and mission with others

Additional Qualifications and Requirements:

Completion of Degree or Certificate program from an accredited institution and 2 to 4 years relevant experience are preferred. This position requires the following competencies for success:

  • Passion for event planning and commitment to on-going education in the event and food service industry
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all departments to ensure events are secured and advanced efficiently and with high quality
