Compass Group USA is seeking a Catering Director for a high-volume and premiere catering department in Washington, DC. You will develop and drive catering solutions to meet customer needs, while collaborating with the Executive Chef on menu development. Events range from coffee service to VIP dining.

Lead staffing, oversee events, manage labor and food costs, and ensure flawless execution. Build strong client relationships and work with marketing to grow revenue and market reach.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of catering leadership experience with 2+ years in management.
• Experience booking, costing menu items, pricing contracts, and sourcing staff.
• Ability to supervise food preparation, service and cleanup.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Proficient with computers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee catering events to ensure seamless execution and customer happiness.
• Develop and maintain the catering marketing plan and detailed menu development for clients.
• Lead hiring, training, and scheduling of catering staff and develop staff in service techniques.
• Control labor and food costs and manage preparation, transportation, setup, operation, and cleanup.
• Collaborate with Management and Marketing teams to grow catering revenue and market reach.
• Foster strong client relationships to align programs with objectives and drive satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support dining service operations.
