Position Summary / Career Interest:
We are currently hiring for a Catering Coordinator! This multifunctional position supports dining services. The schedule is from 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Tuesday through Saturday (off Sunday/Monday). Please apply only if interested in this schedule.
Requirements:
- Lift up to 40 lbs, push up to 150 lbs, constant standing and walking.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
- Perform cashier duties in KU Hospital Cafeteria, including setting up cash drawer, verifying prices, and handling receipts.
- Set up, monitor, serve, and clean up catering events throughout the medical center/hospital complex.
- Assist in food production, cafeteria, coffee shop, and support services; cross-trained to work in Physician’s Lounge. Maintain food safety following HACCP standards. Rotate stock and move supplies.
- Operate and clean equipment used for job duties, following standards.
- Maintain orderliness, safety, and sanitation in work and service areas.
- Support dishroom operations as needed to assist catering and cafeteria functions.
- Clean dining areas, including trash removal and table cleaning.
- Perform the professional, clinical, and technical competencies required for the unit or department.
- Other duties as assigned; responsibilities may vary by department or unit.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience using a cash register (training provided on the specific system).
Knowledge Requirements:
- Basic mathematical skills.
