Description

Position Objective: To assist customers by consulting on their catering needs, suggesting appropriate catering items, and assisting at scheduled catering events to ensure flawless execution.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Catering Director.

Status: Non-exempt position.

Knowledge

Essential:

  • Food handling permit within first 14 days of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license for catering deliveries.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in catering or similar large group functions.
  • Completion of ongoing training per Cosentino’s Learning Plan.

Preferred:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards.
  • Provide courteous and efficient catering consultations.
  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge of catering products for customer suggestions.
  • Communicate clearly with team members for smooth event execution.
  • Participate in event setup, delivery, and execution with urgency.
  • Resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.
  • Practice product rotation and monitor dates.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain equipment safely.
  • Meet productivity standards.
  • Unload shipments and stock merchandise properly.
  • Participate in inventory management efficiently.
  • Follow health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Apply basic math and reading skills.

Non-Essential:

  • Support marketing of catering services.
  • Ensure cleanliness and setup of coolers and prep areas.
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed.
Physical Abilities

Essential:

  • Reaching, twisting, lifting up to 20 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Standing and walking for long periods.
  • Work in cold environments like coolers and freezers.
  • Bending, squatting, and ladder climbing (up to 5 ft).
