Town and Country Resort San Diego is seeking an Assistant Director of Catering & Convention Services to lead one of the most dynamic meetings and events operations in San Diego. You’ll help turn the sales promise into operational reality and ensure flawless service across large-scale events.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel catering, convention services, event management or a similar hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of meetings, conventions, banquet operations and food & beverage.
• Excellent communication, organization and client-service skills.
• Leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop a diverse team.
• Ability to juggle multiple events, deadlines and priorities while focusing on details.
• Solutions-oriented mindset with good judgment on when to act or seek reinforcement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Catering & Convention Services team in executing events from contract turnover through departure.
• Partner with Sales, Banquets, Culinary, Rooms, Engineering and other teams to follow a unified playbook.
• Oversee event planning, timelines, BEOs, room sets, F&B details and client requests.
• Build relationships with clients and act as the trusted contact to keep events moving.
• Coach and develop the team while upholding high service and execution standards.
• Monitor event profitability, guest satisfaction and operational details.
• Step in to troubleshoot and make decisions when plans meet reality.
• Foster clear communication, accountability, and exceptional service as the standard.
