Job summary

Town and Country Resort in San Diego is seeking an Assistant Director of Catering & Convention Services to lead the Events team and execute complex meetings, conventions, weddings and social gatherings with precision.

You will partner with clients, review plans, coordinate with multiple departments, and drive profitability while ensuring an exceptional guest experience across all event types.

Qualifications

• Experience leading in hotel catering or convention services.
• Solid knowledge of BEOs, event timelines, room setups, F&B, AV coordination, banquet operations.
• Experience managing multiple events and priorities.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to interact with executive-level clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Catering & Convention Services team from turnover to farewell.
• Partner with clients to understand vision and ensure feasible timelines.
• Review BEOs, resumes, diagrams and timelines to align teams.
• Collaborate with Banquets, Culinary, Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, Sales and Finance for seamless events.
• Conduct pre-convention meetings and operational briefings.
• Monitor execution and resolve issues before they become complaints.
• Build relationships with planners, clients, vendors and partners.
