Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a General Assistant to support daily kitchen operations. You will help with food prep, maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and equipment, and assist with deliveries and stock organization.

When needed, you may serve customers and act as host/waiter at events, including topping up vending services. The role emphasizes good time management, organisational skills, and the ability to stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Commercial kitchen experience valued but not essential.
• Basic Catering and Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling or equivalent desired but not essential.
• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods is often necessary.

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment (utensils, tableware, catering stations).
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, keep storage areas organized.
• Serve food items to customers according to the menu; may act as host/waiter at events.
• Top up vending services.
