Job summary

Kraft Heinz is seeking an Analyst, Category Strategy & Insights in Chicago to translate data into actionable recommendations for assortment, shelving, pricing, and promotion. You will work with Circana/Numerator data and Power BI to build category stories and roadmaps, supporting whitespace identification and SKU optimization.

The role emphasizes collaboration with customer teams, strong analytics, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated analytical capability with large datasets and defensible insights.
• Experience with retail POS, syndicated, and/or panel data and related analytical approaches (Circana, Numerator, Power BI).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation and structured analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to tell clear stories in PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills; meets deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and ambiguity in a new role/team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine reporting and ad hoc analyses using customer, syndicated, and panel data to identify trends and opportunities in category performance.
• Analyze shopper behavior and category dynamics (purchase frequency, buy rate, penetration, cross-shop, leakage, demographics).
• Integrate multiple data sources to develop a holistic view of category and shopper performance.
• Translate analyses into clear, customer-ready storytelling and insights using PowerPoint and Power BI.
• Develop recommendations on distribution, assortment, shelving/space productivity, merchandising, pricing, and promotion.
• Partner with customer teams and internal stakeholders to align on objectives and deliver insights for commercial decisions.
• Contribute to team capability by aggregating best practices and supporting repeatable reporting.
• Manage multiple projects and timelines, prioritizing to meet deadlines in a fast-changing environment.
