Job summary

JD.com (Joybuy) is seeking a results-driven Category Manager to join our European retail business. You will drive category growth, manage supplier partnerships, optimize assortment, and implement pricing and promotions to deliver sustainable GMV and margin improvements across Europe.

You will collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Operations and Finance to achieve targets, while keeping a strong focus on data-driven decisions and market trends.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in buying, merchandising, category management or commercial roles.
• Strong commercial awareness of sales, margin, pricing and inventory.
• Proven supplier sourcing and commercial negotiation experience.
• Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision making.
• Results-oriented with ownership and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall commercial performance of assigned categories (GMV, margins, inventory turnover, availability).
• Develop and execute category strategies based on demand, market trends and competition.
• Identify and manage local and international suppliers and brands.
• Negotiate purchase prices, terms, rebates and promotional support.
• Build and optimise product assortment, including new product introductions and SKU improvements.
• Develop pricing and promotions to drive sales while maintaining margins.
• Forecast and manage inventory to improve availability and reduce stockouts.
• Monitor category performance and identify growth opportunities from data.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics and Finance to reach targets.
• Cultivate relationships with strategic suppliers and explore direct sourcing opportunities.
• Track market developments and product trends across European markets.
