Job summary

Orion180 Insurance Co. seeks a Senior Catastrophe Risk Research Analyst to deliver catastrophe risk analytics across all lines.

You’ll act as a thought Cat modeler and partner with underwriting, product, actuaries, and ERM to establish and implement Orion180's view of risk, ensuring world-class exposure management and model validation. The role drives analytics, portfolio optimization, and capital management strategies, with opportunities to influence expansion into new markets and products,

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in relevant fields.
• 5+ years’ experience in catastrophe risk analytics.
• Experience embedding advanced analytics and automation in catastrophe risk management processes.
• Deep understanding of global reinsurance markets, regulatory environments, and vendor models (RMS, AIR, KatRisk).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to translate complex analytics into actionable business insights for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Customize, establish, and implement Orion180 view of risk.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product, claims, actuarial, finance, and IT to deliver robust catastrophe risk insights.
• Support group-wide efforts to aggregate catastrophe risk and analytics for underwriting strategy.
• Inspire and mentor a team of analytics professionals; promote collaboration and innovation.
• Evaluate emerging risks, trends, and technologies in catastrophe modeling and analytics; recommend adoption.
• Partner with internal teams and external vendors to develop optimized catastrophe modeling workflows.
• Provide analytical support during live catastrophe events.
