Job summary

Orion180 invites a Senior Catastrophe Risk Researcher to transform data into strategic insight. You will lead cat risk analytics across lines, validate models, calibrate approaches, and align with underwriting and ERM to optimize capital and pricing.

You will collaborate with vendors and internal teams to deploy optimized catastrophe modeling workflows and support live events. Strong programming, communication, and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in catastrophe risk analytics, with exposure to property catastrophe insurance models.
• Hands-on experience embedding analytics and automation in catastrophe risk management processes.

Responsibilities

• Customize, establish, and implement Orion180 view of risk.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product, claims, actuarial, finance, and IT to deliver catastrophe risk insights.
• Support group-wide efforts to aggregate catastrophe risk and inform underwriting strategy.
• Mentor a team of analytics professionals to promote collaboration and excellence.
• Evaluate emerging risks and technologies in catastrophe modeling and analytics.
