Job summary

INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA, Battleground Manufacturing Complex in La Porte, TX, seeks a Lab Technician to perform analytical testing for quality and process control. The role supports catalyst development, technical centers, and PE/PP manufacturing while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards.

You will handle sample prep, operate GC/ICP and other lab instruments, and enter results in the LIMS system.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associate Degree preferred in Chemical Technology or equivalent lab experience.
• 0-3 years lab or operations experience in a chemical plant, refinery, or gas processing plant preferred. Position is straight days with possible early start (~5am) 1-2 days a week.
• Computer skills: E-mail, SAP, Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience preferred.
• Experience using a variety of lab equipment – GC, ICP, Chromatography preferred.
• Experience with wet chemical testing such as solubles testing, extractions, digestions.
• Experience with chemicals and use of PPE – Acids/Bases, Organic Solvents, Etc.
• Experience following safety procedures, including OSHA standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Catalyst Development Group, Technical Center, and PE/PP Manufacturing as part of the Analytical team.
• Follow safety/PPE rules and promote safety practices across the lab.
• Ensure safety, health and environmental compliance in daily operations; uphold INEOS Safety Principles.
• Perform tests under appropriate conditions and enter results into LIMS; report deviations.
• Discuss special testing requirements with internal customers and adjust priorities accordingly.
• Monitor samples and maintain equipment records per policy.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and equipment to uphold world-class standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform routine maintenance; write Work Orders when needed.
