Job summary

Heritage Auctions, the world’s largest collectibles auctioneer, seeks a catalog writer to craft primary narrative descriptions for Action Figures & Toys. Onsite in Dallas, you will research, describe, and edit entries for catalogs and online auctions, collaborating with marketing and sales teams.

You will write essays and bios, assist with authentication submissions, and help respond to client inquiries. Some travel and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Vintage Action Figures & Toys, 1960s–present, required.
• Research, identify, and create accurate descriptions for catalogs and online auctions.
• Write catalog essays and bios as needed.
• Assist with authentication and submissions to/from grading services.

• Assist clients with questions about lots, communicating professionally and knowledgeably.
• Write catalog essays and bios as needed.
• Assist with authentication and submissions to/from grading services.
• Proof/edit description text and review images for catalog/online.
• Assist with catalog production and coordinate with Marketing, Social Media, and Digital Commerce departments for auction promotion.
• Actively participate in previews, auctions, and trade shows.
• Some travel may be required as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

ROLE SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for researching and writing the primary narrative descriptions for Action Figures & Toys auction catalogs and online entries.

LOCATION:

Not a remote position. This position is onsite at South of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, NW corner of W. Airport Freeway (Hwy. 183) and Valley View Lane.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma required.

• Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Follows established standards, takes direction well, has a high ability to multitask, and pays great attention to detail
• Demonstrates strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines and complete projects on time

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills: concise, accurate, and thorough
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during the auction catalog crunch, as needed
