TEKsystems is seeking a Cable Technician for a contract-to-hire role in the Fort Mill, SC area. You will join a team performing CAT6 cabling installations, terminations, and testing across commercial environments, with travel between sites as needed.

This entry-level position emphasizes hands-on learning and safety on active job sites, working alongside experienced technicians to develop skills in structured cabling and low-voltage systems. Fort Mill onsite role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to install, pull, terminate, and test CAT6 cabling in commercial environments.
• Comfort working in construction and active job sites.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Authorisation to work in the United States.
• Willingness to travel between sites up to an hour away.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems, focusing on CAT6.
• Support copper and fibre optic cabling installations across commercial sites.
• Perform IDF and MDF closet builds, including rack and stack tasks and cable management.
• Travel between job sites, sometimes up to an hour away, ensuring punctuality.
• Work safely on ladders, scissor lifts, and construction sites per safety standards.
• Collaborate with experienced technicians to deliver high-quality cabling installations.
