Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a CT Tech (PRN, variable) to join its imaging team. You will work with X-ray, CT, and MRI to deliver accurate diagnoses and compassionate care in a collaborative environment.

Must have ARRT registration and a 2-year certificate or higher, with BLS within 30 days. Prior experience is preferred, and the role supports professional growth and patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Must have a 2-year certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree and ARRT registration.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educate patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope.
  • Monitor patient condition and respond to changes.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies.
  • Perform quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Position patient and perform imaging procedures.
  • Analyze results and identify image quality issues.
  • Take action to resolve image quality issues.

How you\'ll contribute
  • Reviews patient history and physician\'s orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient\'s understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.

What we\'re looking for

Must have a 2-year certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree as well as a current ARRT registration. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
