Job summary

A healthcare organization in North Carolina is seeking a Cat Scan Tech (CT Tech) to join their team. This position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities include performing imaging procedures, educating patients, and ensuring quality control. The ideal candidate should have relevant education and certifications, along with a passion for providing exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educate patients on procedures and exams.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications.
  • Monitor patient condition continually.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies.
  • Implement safety standards and quality control procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
  • Analyze results and resolve imaging issues.

Harris Regional Hospital provides comprehensive diagnostic imaging and interventional services in comfortable, convenient surroundings. We are proud to offer a filmless environment, complete with a picture-achieving communication system (PACS). The PACS digitally stores and displays medical images allowing for immediate access to patient information and increased efficiency. Our radiologists are certified by the American Board of Radiology with extensive training and experience in all areas of technology. We offer our patients the latest technology in diagnostic testing while staying close to home.

How you'll contribute

A CT Tech who excels in this role:

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.

What we're looking for

Must have a 2 year certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree as well as a current ARRT registration. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
