Job summary
Finning (UK) Ltd seeks a skilled Field Service Engineer to respond to customer field repair and service requests and diagnose problems to prepare accurate quotes. You will operate within Finning’s renowned field service department, supporting Caterpillar product diagnostics, safety standards, and cost-effective repair solutions.
The role requires autonomous work on site, strong communication with customers, and the use of dealer software and repair techniques.
Qualifications
- Autonomous self-starter with ability to work independently or in a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the business.
- Strong planning, organisation, and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Provide arrival time estimates to customer sites based on job instructions and location details.
- Coordinate with site management to register arrival and comply with procedures.
- Diagnose equipment problems with operators/supervisors using field tools to prepare a detailed quote for Finning.
- Identify required parts and arrange delivery times for follow-up service visits.
- Carry out repairs and servicing per the work plan, reinstalling components as needed.
