Summit Orthopedics in the Twin Cities area seeks a Casual Surgery Center Coordinator to support five centers with base at the Vadnais Heights Campus and float to Woodbury, Eagan, Plymouth, and Minnetonka as needed. The role focuses on patient care, scheduling, registration, insurance verification, payments, and collaboration with physician teams to ensure timely appointments.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare scheduling, billing, or registration is preferred.
• Ability to verify insurance information and collect payments accurately.
• Strong communication and customer-service orientation required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the front line of communication to patients by answering calls and providing high-level service.
• Prepare patient charts with history, clinic notes, labs or radiology reports.
• Order supplies and forms for the center.
• Review and verify patient personal and insurance information for accuracy.
• Register new patients, verify eligibility, and collect payments.
• Enter case history into EMR and maintain orderly medical records.
• Coordinate inter-department communication to resolve issues.
• Search schedules to match physician, location, date, and time needs.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
• Triage patient issues to determine same-day appointments when needed.
• Coordinate interpreters for deaf or non-English speaking patients.
• Follow scheduling protocols established by physicians.
• Address patient complaints about scheduling and route as appropriate.
• Identify errors on patient accounts and notify relevant teams.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient communications.
• Print and distribute the surgery schedule.
