Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Immediate Care Technician for the Huntley clinic on a casual, part-time basis. The role requires a CMA or EMT certification path with eligibility documented and a commitment to 12-hour shifts from 7:45am to 8:15pm, including at least one weekend shift every six weeks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Candidate must have written proof of meeting eligibility for one of five eligible certification exams (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NRCMA).
• Within first six months, complete one of CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA or NRCMA certification after up to two test attempts.
• Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic, or Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (NREMT) certification OR Illinois EMT License.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and APPs by facilitating patient flow and performing clinical and administrative tasks.
• Maintains clean and safe patient areas and protects patient confidentiality.
• Assists with medical and surgical procedures and prepares exam rooms and supplies as needed.
• Monitors equipment, orders supplies, and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Communicates effectively with patients and care team, supporting a positive patient experience.

Education

High school diploma or GED
