Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for Emergency Medicine in a casual/PRN role in Chicago. The position is 4 hours per week (0.1 FTE) with rotating shifts. The candidate will provide direct clinical care, collaborate with the medical team, and contribute to patient education and care planning.

Required are master’s degrees, Illinois licensure as RN/APRN or PA with DEA eligibility, and board certification with active privileges. BLS is also required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required (Nursing or PA).
• Illinois RN license plus APRN license or PA licensure in Illinois with DEA eligibility.
• APRN Board Certification or PA licensure is required.
• BLS certification required from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and provide direct clinical care in Emergency Medicine.
• Prescribe medications and order tests; interpret results as permitted by privileges.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families; document care and education in medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement and research activities within the department.
