Job summary

Default Brand is looking for a Cast Operator (Entry Level and Skilled) at their Minneapolis, MN location. In this role, you will operate metal casting machines, inspect products for quality, and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Observe continuous operation of machines to meet specifications.
  • Measure and inspect products for defects.
  • Set up and operate metal casting machines.
  • Secure work pieces on machines.
  • Remove finished products using hand tools.
  • Trim excess material from parts.
  • Install and coat dies on machines.
  • Record production transactions and work time.
  • Follow safety rules and procedures.

Position Details:
  • Job Title: Cast Operator (Entry Level and Skilled openings)
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
  • Reports to: CNC Department Manager
  • Schedule: 1st Shift (6am-4:30pm M-Th) or 2nd Shift (4:30pm-3am M-Th)
  • Location: Minneapolis, MN
  • Wage Scale: $18.25-$23.50/hr DOQ
Responsibilities:
  • Observe continuous operation of manual and/or automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect malfunctions, making adjustments as instructed.
  • Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Set up, operate, or tend metal casting machines to cast metal parts or products.
  • Position and secure work pieces on machines.
  • Remove finished products from dies using hand tools, air hoses and other equipment.
  • Trim excess material from parts.
  • Install dies onto machines or presses, then coat dies with parting agents, according to work order specifications.
  • Accurately record production transactions and work time.
  • Responsible for knowing and following all environmental, health and safety rules, policies, and procedures for work area and takes responsibility to assure that personal work activity is conducted in such a way so as to not affect the safety of themselves or others.
  • All other duties as assigned.
