Job summary

TCDC, an employee-owned company with over a century in business, is hiring for a Cast Operator in Minneapolis, MN. The role covers both entry-level and skilled openings and reports to the CNC Department Manager.

Shifts include 1st (6am-4:30pm Mon-Thu) or 2nd (4:30pm-3am Mon-Thu), with wage scale $17.00-$23.50/hr DOQ. Responsibilities include operating and monitoring casting machines, measuring parts for conformance, recording time and production data, and adhering to safety and environmental

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Ability to observe and inspect products for defects using precision tools.
• Ability to set up, operate and tend metal casting machines.

Responsibilities

• Observe continuous operation of machines to ensure products meet specs and adjust as instructed.
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects with precision instruments.
• Set up, operate or tend metal casting machines to cast parts or products.
• Position and secure work pieces on machines.
• Remove finished products from dies using tools and equipment.
• Trim excess material from parts and install dies per work order.
• Record production transactions and work time accurately.
• Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures.

POSITION DETAILS:

• Job Title: Cast Operator (Entry Level and Skilled openings)
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
• Reports to: CNC Department Manager
• Schedule: 1 st Shift (6am-4:30pm M-Th) or 2 nd Shift (4:30pm-3am M-Th)
• Location: Minneapolis, MN
• Wage Scale: $17.00-$23.50/hr DOQ

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Observe continuous operation of manual and/or automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect malfunctions, making adjustments as instructed.
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
• Set up, operate, or tend metal casting machines to cast metal parts or products.
• Position and secure work pieces on machines.
• Remove finished products from dies using hand tools, air hoses and other equipment.
• Trim excess material from parts.
• Install dies onto machines or presses, then coat dies with parting agents, according to work order specifications.
• Accurately record production transactions and work time.
• Responsible for knowing and following all environmental, health and safety rules, policies, and procedures for work area and takes responsibility to assure that personal work activity is conducted in such a way so as to not affect the safety of themselves or others.
• All other duties as assigned.
