Job summary

Le Sueur Inc. is seeking a Die Cast Machine Operator to run and monitor die casting equipment and ensure customer specifications are met. You will inspect castings, follow work instructions, and learn programming for die cast machines and peripheral equipment.

Great candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic math/computer skills, and 2–3 years of die casting experience. The role includes safety-focused duties in a non-climate controlled environment.

Job description

The Position:

The machine operator in the Die Cast department works on various die cast equipment to produce quality castings that meet customer specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner ensuring optimal production flow and quality product while learning all aspects of die cast including operation, programming of die cast machines and other peripheral equipment.

Inspect aluminum castings and parts, ensuring they meet the specifications according to specific work instructions.

Ability to be trained to carry out basic preventive and predictive maintenance procedures, tool installation and removal, and the safe use of hoists with capacities up to 15 tons.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Minimum: High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate; basic mathematical and computer skills

Preferred: Two to three years of experience working in diecast operations, and or similar manufacturing environment.

Functional Requirements

Consistently able to:

• Manually lift and move product and materials up to 55 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch and bend.
• Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering for truck.
• Walk, sit or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks.
• Push / pull 100lbs.
• See, inspect, and evaluate product quality
• Read and understand written work instructions in English
• Work in a non-climate controlled environment, including hot and humid conditions.
• Walk up and down steps
• Climb ladders and stairs of varying height
• Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
