Job summary

Lodge Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to improve and design production line layouts for cast iron parts on the plant floor. You will work on CNC machining, robotic automation, and process documentation to enhance throughput and quality.

You will analyze capacity, perform time studies, and partner with cross-functional teams to drive lean improvements and safer, more reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or improving production line layouts, process flows, and material handling.
• Working knowledge of foundry or metal casting processes (molding, pouring, finishing) preferred.
• Experience with CNC programming and machining processes, plus background in robotic automation.
• Experience with capacity analysis, time studies, and line balancing.
• Knowledge of CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize production line layouts and process flows for cast iron manufacturing.
• Develop standard processing methods, cycle times, and capacity models.
• Lead line and cell layout projects, equipment specs, and material flow.
• Program and optimize CNC machining operations and integrate robotics.
• Support PFMEA and control plan development for new/changed processes.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and line balancing to boost throughput.
• Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and controls engineering to improve plant performance.
