Essential Job Functions

1. Provide efficient and courteous service to customers, including asking customers to check out and waiting until they are relieved.
2. Scan and ring customer orders according to company policy, ensuring items are credited correctly and removed from the cart.
3. Handle and be accountable for all funds for each transaction.
4. Assist courtesy clerks in bagging groceries.
5. Maintain a neat and clean work station and surrounding area.
6. Follow all laws regarding alcohol sales, WIC handling, coupon handling, and transaction procedures.
7. Properly use assigned tills and handle transactions with various payment methods.
8. Take weekly produce tests and record all not-on-file items daily.
9. Obtain change properly, use the intercom correctly, and avoid conversations during checkout.
10. Understand and explain the ValuCard program.
11. Assist with light stocking duties, sweep the front end, and replace misplaced items.
12. Keep bathrooms clean and perform other duties as assigned.
