Essential Job Functions

1. Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times, including managing check-out procedures and ensuring proper sign-off of registers.
2. Scan and ring customer orders according to company policy, ensuring items are credited correctly and removed from carts.
3. Handle and be accountable for all funds for each transaction.
4. Assist courtesy clerks in bagging groceries.
5. Maintain a neat and clean work station and surrounding area.
6. Follow all legal regulations regarding sales of beer, wine, WIC handling, coupons, and tendering procedures.
7. Use assigned tills properly and follow company policies for transactions including Debit, Credit, Gift Cards, EBT, and check cashing.
8. Take weekly produce tests and record all not-on-file items daily.
9. Follow proper procedures for obtaining change and using the intercom.
10. Maintain professionalism during checkout, avoiding conversations with other associates.
11. Understand and explain the ValuCard program.
12. Assist with light stocking duties, sweep the front end, and replace misplaced items.
13. Keep bathrooms neat and clean, and perform other duties as assigned.
