Job description

Join to apply for the Cashier - Student role at Food City / KVAT Foods Inc.

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing efficient and courteous service to customers, including managing check-out procedures and ensuring register sign-off only after relief.
2. Scanning and ringing customer orders according to company policies, crediting items correctly, and removing items from carts.
3. Handling and being accountable for all transaction funds.
4. Assisting courtesy clerks with bagging groceries.
5. Maintaining a neat and clean work station and surrounding area.
6. Following all applicable laws regarding alcohol sales, WIC handling, coupons, and various payment methods.
7. Using company policies for check cashing, tendering, and transaction procedures.
8. Taking weekly produce tests and recording all non-file items daily.
9. Properly obtaining change and using the intercom correctly.
10. Explaining the ValuCard program to customers.
11. Assisting with light stocking duties and maintaining cleanliness of bathrooms and front end.
12. Performing other duties as assigned.
