Join to apply for the Cashier - Student role at Food City / KVAT Foods Inc.

• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times, including asking customers to check out. NEVER sign off the register with a customer waiting. Always wait until someone comes to relieve you.
• Scan and ring customer orders according to company policy, ensuring items are credited to the correct department and all items are removed from the cart.
• Receive and be accountable for all funds taken for each transaction.
• Assist the courtesy clerk in bagging groceries.
• Keep the work station and surrounding area neat and clean.
• Follow all state, local, and federal laws regarding alcohol sales, WIC handling, coupons, and transaction procedures.
• Properly use assigned tills and follow company policies for check cashing and tendering.
• Take weekly produce tests and record all not-on-file items daily.
• Use the intercom properly and avoid carrying on conversations while checking out.
• Understand and explain the ValuCard program.
• Assist with light stocking duties and maintain cleanliness of the front end and restrooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
